Possession
Nevada cannabis laws allow adults aged 21+ to possess up to 2.5 ounces (70g) of cannabis.
Cultivation
Home growers can cultivate up to six mature cannabis plants if they live more than 25 miles from a dispensary. This is somewhat restrictive in our humble opinions since 25 miles away from Las Vegas or any other Nevada city is basically a desert wasteland. Read more on Nevada cannabis laws.
Fun Fact
As one can imagine, much of Nevada’s cannabis business comes from tourists. When we were in Vegas last, the pungent aroma of weed hung in the air everywhere you went.
Technically and legally, this isn’t supposed to happen (wink wink) and up until 2021, people in Vegas were legally allowed to consume cannabis in a private residence. Duh, tourists don’t have private residences.
Recently, the operation of cannabis consumption lounges (must be alcohol-free) was approved as standalone locations or extensions of existing dispensaries. Whew, now tourists have a place to go to smoke weed in Vegas.
It shows, annual sales are forecasted to eclipse $1.4 billion by 2025.
