Oregon Cannabis Laws
Month & Year Passed into Law: July 2015
Oregon cannabis laws allow adults aged 21+ to possess up to 2 ounces (56g) of cannabis without prescription outside of the home. Inside the house, on the other hand, you can possess up to 8 ounces (224g) of smokable bud.
Only persons qualified to use medical cannabis through designated caregivers can use cannabis under the age of 21.
A customer cannot purchase more than the following amounts at any one time or within one day
- Two ounces of usable marijuana
- 16 ounces of a cannabinoid product in solid form
- 72 fluid ounces of a cannabinoid product in liquid form
- 10 grams of cannabinoid extracts or concentrates;
- 10 grams of cannabinoid products intended for inhalation
- Four immature marijuana plants
- 10 marijuana seeds.
Public use isn’t allowed in the typical places: rental homes (no AirBnb smoke outs), sidewalks (who hangs out on a sidewalk and puffs on a blunt without a care in the world?), nowhere near any kind of school (duh), hanging out with friends in a park (designated areas anyone?), and federal lands or properties in Oregon. Cannabis plants per individual allowed to cultivate at home
Home growers can cultivate up to four mature cannabis plants per individual and medicinal growers can cultivate up to six mature plants at any given time.
Oregon Cannabis Fun Fact
Oregon was the fourth state to pass recreational marijuana reform into law.
Some cannabis strains to consider…
Oregon’s deep cannabis history precludes us from suggesting one strain over another because all the Medusa Seed Bank strains yield killer buds. Choosing between an autoflower strain or a photoperiod strain is the decision that has to be made.
For a novice grower, try a solid autoflowering strain like Watermelon Gas. If you’re an experienced grower, we recommend a photoperiod strain like Tokyo Kong #4.
